Adidas adizero Adios Pro 4

Originally $255, Now $204

The Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4 launched in late 2024 as a full redesign of Adidas’s marathon flagship, built around dual layers of Lightstrike Pro foam and carbon Energyrods shaped to mirror the metatarsals, with the rocker point pushed to 60 percent of the shoe’s length for a smoother, more propulsive roll. A new Lightlock upper and Lighttraxion outsole rounded out the update.

Asics Novablast 5

Originally $150, Now $130

The ASICS Novablast 5 arrived as the biggest overhaul the line has seen in years, swapping out FF Blast Plus Eco for a new FF Blast Max midsole while replacing the old woven mesh upper with a softer jacquard knit.

Brooks Ghost 17

Originally $150, Now $110

The Brooks Ghost 17 kept the same nitrogen-injected DNA Loft v3 foam as its predecessor but added more of it — 1mm more stack at the heel and 3mm more in the forefoot — while trimming the heel-to-toe drop from 12mm to 10mm for smoother transitions. It pairs the updated midsole with a new double jacquard air-mesh upper and redesigned “kickback” heel collar for added comfort and breathability.

New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer v2

Originally $265, Now $160

The New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer v2 marked a complete redesign of NB’s shorter-distance racer, moving to a 100 percent PEBA FuelCell midsole and adding 10mm of stack in both the heel and forefoot while carrying over the same bowed carbon plate as the SuperComp Elite v4. It has a lower-to-the-ground feel than most super shoes on the market.

Nike Vaporfly 4

The Nike Vaporfly 4 marked the biggest overhaul in the series’ history, shedding nearly 10 percent of its weight and dropping stack height from the Vaporfly 3’s to a lower, firmer 35mm/29mm (6mm drop) with a full-length carbon Flyplate set at a steeper angle and a snug, minimal engineered-mesh upper. Testers praised its exceptional lightness and snappy, propulsive toe-off, though several flagged mild heel slippage and a firmer-than-expected ride compared to past versions.

Saucony Endorphin Elite 2

Originally $290, Now $160

The Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 builds its entire midsole around a new incrediRUN superfoam, a supercritical TPEE compound debuting for the first time, paired with a full-length carbon plate slotted for added midfoot flexibility and Saucony’s SpeedRoll rocker geometry.
